Starting out as a wooded area controlled by Native Americans, Ohio has become a state rich in agriculture, technology, and tourism. Ohio also played a key role in every one of our Nation's conflicts, from the Revolutionary War and War of 1812 through both World Wars and the conflicts in Vietnam, Korea, and the Middle East.

Pre-European Settlement (Before 1600s)
Long before European colonization, Ohio was home to various indigenous peoples including the Adena, Hopewell, a
